hi,
I was given a beautiful peruvian opal ring for christmas. The stone is light sea blue, and when I first received it -- it was a kind of milky color. I left it overnight in a jewelry cleaning solution w.out realizing the solution was too harsh for opals. In the morning, the milky color had changed and now it is more translucent and opal-escent (if that is a word, not sure of the appropriate term.) Did I damage the opal by leaving it in the solution? Where can I find appropriate cleaning materials? it is set in white gold with topaz stones.
Thanks.
Suzanne
