We found 5 geodes in some dirt in our back yard years ago when we bought our house. We smashed one open with a hammer and someone told us it was probably an opal geode. It is milky white with some pinkish, yellowish parts. We left the others in tact. Funny though - we have wondered if they could be some sort of fossilized egg because of the coloring. Anyone have knowledge on this? Please write me. deanut@attbi.com
