The solution in the jewelry cleaner that you used must have been alkaline based. The blue-green color of the Peruvian opal is derived from a mildly acidic solution that the opal formed in. I have changed the blue color to a blue green color by soaking the opal in a mild acid but I do not recommend your doing this. If the acid is too strong the opal will turn to an ugly yellow color. My suggestion is to wear the opal and see if the body oils, that are slighty acidic, will turn the opal blue-green again. Robert Wilson
